Associate Scientist - Genotyping
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, optimize, and execute high throughput genotyping by a variety of methods
- Provide general molecular biology support to projects as needed including construct building, plasmid DNA extractions, restriction enzyme digests, DNA sequencing
Associate Scientist - Cyanobacteria
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise in the areas of vector construction, gene cloning, site-directed mutagenesis, gene expression and promoter characterization
- Integrate with strain development scientists to construct/optimize metabolic pathway activity focused on product generation
- Participate in the design and execution of genetic screens focused on strain optimization
Wheat Breeding Lead
Primary Responsibilities:

Create and maintain breeding plan.

Identify, introgress and evaluate in multi-location agronomic studies,optimal mutant product/s.

Implement the use of molecular markers in breeding where appropriate.

Coordinate and manage greenhouse projects.
-
Expected travel is approximately 30% per year depending on location of successful candidate.
Associate Scientist - Pathway Engineering
Primary Responsibilities:
-
Work closely with pathway engineering group scientists in the construction and phenotypic characterization of genetically modified bacterial strains. Become familiar with methods of quantitative analysis of lipids: GC, HPLC, TLC.

Possess comprehensive, up to date knowledge with respect to bacterial molecular microbiology.

Communicate data supporting constructed strains and their characterization in both written and oral reports.

Maintain, update and optimize quality control metrics and lab protocols associated with vector construction, strain construction and strain characterization
