Targeted Growth's scientific program focuses on increasing yield in commercial crops through enhanced growth and cell cycle regulation. Additionally, the company has active programs for improving the suitability of select energy crops for use as fuels.  TGI programs work to improve sugar, starch and oil profiles, as well as characteristics of cell wall formation.

TGI employs three approaches to crop enhancement, providing a broad set of opportunities for successful product development and commercialization.

Targeted Growth's success is the result of data-driven research and development, comprised of:

Molecular-Assisted Breeding

Arabidopsis -Model Systems

Modern breeding programs employ molecular markers as a tool to accelerate the process of selecting desirable characteristics.

2

Mutation Breeding

Soybean

A genetically diverse population with a unique pattern of randomly created, non-GMO variations can be screened to identify plants with desirable properties.

3

Biological Modification

Canola

Specific genetic sequences known to produce desired properties can be introduced into a crop using molecular biology.
